November 06, 2008 at 07:36 PM

(GEORGETOWN, DE) - Steven Miles, General Manager of Analtech, Inc. - the only U.S. manufacturer of Thin Layer Chromatography plates and accessories - took part in Thursday's Return Day Celebrations, congratulating all who took part in the 2008 elections.

Analtech's products are used throughout Delaware at a variety of BioScience companies, the University of Delaware, and various state agencies, as well as nationwide by government agencies, research labs, and a wide variety of private industries. The plates and accessories are used for everything from water and soil testing to forensic investigations and drug screenings.

Miles said he is proud to attend this historic occasion.

“While Return Day has been an incredible Delaware tradition for the past couple of centuries, it's exciting to see the first Return Day with a newly-elected Vice President from the First State being part of the program,” said Miles.Steven Miles and Jack Markell

Miles spent time during Return Day with U.S. Senator Tom Carper and Governor-Elect Jack Markell.

Miles said he hopes to work with both the new federal administration and the new state administration to expand education opportunities in science. Miles has been working with high schools in Delaware such as the new Conrad School of Science, Pencader Charter High School, and St. Georges Technical High School to demonstrate to students the history and application of Thin Layer Chromatography.

“I look forward to working with the Markell/Denn Administration to continue educating our next generation of scientists and providing Delaware's growing BioScience industry with the best Thin Layer Chromatography products available,” Miles said.
