Analtech, Inc., the only U.S.-based manufacturer of Thin Layer Chromatography plates, marks 50 years of manufacturing TLC Plates and other chromatography supplies.
During the September 14, 2011 Bio Breakfast, Delaware BioScience Association President Bob Dayton recognized the work done by Analtech and read a letter from Delaware Governor Jack Markell.
Steven Miles, General Manager for Analtech, shared some words about the company's founder, Matt Lamkin.
"I can't believe that 50 years ago, the founder of this company - Matt Lamkin - pretty much risked everything and started this business in his basement, making a product nobody had commercially made before," said Miles.
Founded on September 14, 1961, Analtech has been manufacturing TLC plates, first in Wilmington, Delaware, then in Newark, providing the tools and equipment needed for labs around the world to conduct research, fight disease, investigate crimes, and make significant leaps in science.
