This 1000 um silica gel prep layer has a preadsorbent zone for concentrating samples and two score lines near the edge of each plate. The score lines allow the user to perform a potentially destructive visualization test on only a fraction of the plate. By doing this it is possible to realign the test strips with the remaining plate so the area of interest can be located and scraped from the plate.
